THE LOG HOUSE

Location: ASHFORD, WA

Year: 2026

Status: In Progress

The Log House is a complete remodel of an existing timber cabin in Ashford, Washington. The project presented a complex balance: preserving the warmth, weight, and authenticity of the original log structure while introducing a more refined and contemporary way of living. The existing logs and structural beams remain central to the interior, their natural texture set against dark wood surfaces, monolithic stone, custom millwork, and restrained furnishings. Rather than separating the old from the new, the design allows them to exist as one cohesive architectural language. Carefully integrated lighting reveals the depth of the materials and creates an intimate atmosphere throughout the home. The result is a modern interpretation of the traditional cabin: grounded in the enduring craftsmanship of its original construction, yet shaped with the clarity, comfort, and timeless character of a contemporary retreat.
